Jim Patrick Guyer of Hutsonville, Illinois, age 61, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Davenport, Florida.

Surviving are his wife, Lisa (Kessler) Guyer of Newton, Illinois, their children Sherry and Lyle Guyer of Jacksonville, Florida.

Also surviving are his brother Gary Guyer of Hutsonville, Illinois, sisters, Margaret Booth of Palestine, Illinois, Romane Lindley of Brazil, Indiana, Kati (Joyce) Leslie of Lawrenceville, Illinois as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jim in death are his mother, Inge (Machiedo) Lawrence, his father, Lyle Guyer, and his sister, Judy Guyer.

Jim was a graduate of Lincoln Trail College where later he became a Senior Programmer Engineer. Jim was the author of several books: "The Long Rider", "Star Lords", more recently known were "Rabbit in a Bottle" and "Mouse in a Bottle". His other major accomplishment was Diamond Chess board game that he patented.

Jim has left us way too early. He will be sorely missed by family and friends he has made across the United States.

Funeral services will be held at Lohman Funeral Home, 1423 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach, Florida.
Visitation will be 10:00 am-12:00 pm EST. Funeral service at 12:00 pm EST. Graveside service at the Daytona Memorial Park at 1:00 pm EST.
