Bob had a playful heart and a strong work ethic. He was known to many as "Boots" which his oldest grandson Rob named him. He adored his family, neighbors on the 1200 block of Cherokee, the class of 1959 Bearcats and his community because no one was a stranger to him. He was a craftsman, and many will cherish his woodworking pieces. Bob loved Hucks catfish and the picture the family shares shows his delight!
Bob will be cherished forever by his loving wife Julia; his daughter and son-in-law Julie and Ron Tearney of Germantown, Wisconsin; two beloved grandsons Rob Tearney of Farmington Hills, Michigan and Ryan Tearney of Germantown, Wisconsin; his daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Tommy Swanson of Carrollton, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Edna Mercer.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association in Bob's memory. He navigated diabetes for over 40 years and would appreciate supporting those walking the same challenging journey. https://www.diabetes.org/donate/donate-memorial
