Arvell James Brown, age 57 of Electra, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Aulds Funeral Home with Joe Grace officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Arvell was born March 10, 1964 in Ventura, California to the late James Elijah Brown and Margaret Annette McLauglin Brown.
Arvell spent most of his life in Antlers, Oklahoma. He married and together they had three children, William, Candies and Brandon. His wife preceded him in death from a car accident when his children were young. Then years later, he moved to Sayre, Oklahoma and married Yvonne Hughes from Graham, Texas on February 10, 2006 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Arvell loved the outdoor life, spending lots of time on the river, fishing, hunting and camping out. He enjoyed gardening and keeping his lawn, cooking out, music and making people laugh.
Arvell and his wife, Yvonne, moved around with his favorite company from state to state where he was a great electrician in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee and Iowa. Arvell and Yvonne finally bought a couple of acres and a double wide in Electra and settled down. He worked for Tyson Bacon Plant in Vernon while his wife raised Yorkshire Terriers and he raised prized rabbits.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Brown of Electra; four sons, William Brown and wife, Kourtney of Moyers, Oklahoma, Brandon Brown and wife, Amina of Antlers, Oklahoma, James Glover and wife, Debbie of Electra and Michael Glover of Electra; one daughter, Candies Woodall of Antlers, Oklahoma; two sisters, Virginia Switzer and Donna Simmons and husband, Malcolm all of Hugo, Oklahoma; four brothers, Allen Brown of Antlers, Oklahoma, Dewayne O'Neel of Antlers, Oklahoma, Ricky Don Brown and wife, Melissa of Valliant, Oklahoma, and Terry O'Neel of Antlers, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
