Martha Louise, daughter of Ferdinand and Augusta Messerschmidt, was born in Germany September 16, 1891 and died at the Myrtue Memorial hospital, December 3, 1956 at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 18 days.
At the age of 2 years she came to this country with her parents.
She was baptized and became a member in the Presbyterian church in Shelby, Iowa and later transferred her membership to the Methodist church in Harlan. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Women's Society of Christian Service.
August 10, 1910 she was married to Thomas C. Dinesen at Avoca, Iowa and to this union three children were born; Melvin of Bakersfield, California, Leonard and Alice Mae Rogers; both of Harlan, Iowa.
She is survived by 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 6 sisters and 3 brothers. Her husband preceded her in death July 17, 1948.
Services were held Wednesday December 5, 1956 at Pauley's Funeral Home with Rev. L.B. Beals officiating.
Burial was in the Harlan cemetery.
