William H. Schilder, well-known businessman of this city, passed away at his residence, 152 South Walnut Street, at 3:40 this morning after a ten days' illness with pneumonia.

Mr. Schilder was born August 3, 1865 in this city, the son of the late Martin and Caroline Schilder. He was a printer by trade, and was at one time connected with the News-Advertiser of this city, the Cincinnati Enquirer, and was foreman of the Louisville Herald and the Omaha World.

For the past thirty years he has represented the John Hancock Life Insurance Company in this city. William Schilder was an affable, companionable man, who made friends easily, and will be greatly missed in this community.

Surviving him are his wife; three sons, William Jr. and Campbell of this city, and Clark of Washington D.C.; one daughter, Clara; four brothers, Edward, Charles, Thomas, and Joseph, of this city; and Sister Evanagela of the Dominican Order at St. Mary of the Springs, Columbus.

Funeral services will be held from St. Mary's Church at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. William Conroy officiating.
