YORKTOWN--Michael Alan "Mike" Prewitt, 69, of Yorktown, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Mike was born on July 13, 1951, in Dixon, IL. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. Mike worked as a journeyman and machinist for Zimmer Paper Company for over 45 years before his retirement in 2009. Mike enjoyed baseball card and coin collecting. He also enjoyed working on cars and watching NASCAR and drag racing.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dixie (Toney) Prewitt; two daughters; three grandchildren; two sisters; two adopted daughters in his heart; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Elizabeth Dahl; and a brother, Charles "Chuck" Prewitt.

A memorial service to celebrate Mike's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Southeastway Park, 5624 S. Carroll Rd., New Palestine, IN. The Gant and Miller families are honored to celebrate his life with his family and community.
