MCROBBIE, Edward Charles - It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Edward Charles McRobbie on August 8, 2009 at York Central Hospital in Richmond Hill. Ed was born in Toronto, December 1, 1940, son of Kathleen O'Connell and Charlie McRobbie and stepson of Albert Zirnis. Ed married Claudette (nee Charbonneau) December 29, 1962 in Toronto. Proud father of Glen (Mary Anne), Keith (Nickie), and Scott (Karyn); brother of Charles McRobbie (Peggy) of St. Catharines. Loving grandfather to Kelson, Conner, Cameron, Taylor, Quinn, and Wyatt. Ed was an active leader in his community who was greatly respected for his vision and ability to motivate and inspire others. A 34 year employee of IBM, Ed was recognized with numerous professional awards. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time at Sonshine cottage. Family and friends may call at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill (4th traffic light north of Major Mackenzie Drive), on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 1 p.m. for visitation. A Memorial Service to honour Ed's life will follow at 2 p.m. If desired, donations to Lupus Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
