James "Jay" J. Kormann, Jr., of Medford, passed away July 19, 2021 at the age of 45. He is survived by mother Gail Kormann (Allen) and his sister, Kristal (Theo). He is the proud uncle of Isabella and Alexandra.

He was predeceased by his father James J. Kormann, Sr. and grandparents John J., Sr., Wanda (Harczynski) Kormann and Albert and Minerva (Woodworth) Allen.

Jay fought a long battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Despite his physical limitations, Jay always stayed engaged with others. He was an Associate Member of both the Union Fire Company and the Taunton Fire Company. He loved reaching out to his Facebook buddies, sharing his favorite pictures of new fire-fighting apparatus or his most recent addition to his die-cast car collection. On a nice day you could find Jay outside in the front yard, his nurse by his side. Often, his firehouse friends would stop by to say hi. He was so thankful for their friendship.

The family would like to take the opportunity to thank the Bayada nurses, Debbie Wills, Ivette Fegueroa, Phyillis Rebmann and Tanya Conover.

Jay will be missed by his family members, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

A viewing for Jay will be held on Saturday, July 24th from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Lechner Funeral Home, 24 N. Main St., Medford, NJ 08055. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery at Historic Medford Village, Medford, NJ. Out of respect for Jay's family, face coverings will be required.

----------

I met Jay on a message board for retro pop culture back in the early aughts. We became friends on Facebook and kept in contact until he passed away. Jay LOVED fire trucks. Every time I see one, I think of him. His maternal grandfather was a fire fighter. Jay was a great guy and friend. He is missed SO much.

Thank you to Darlene Potts-Huyler for creating Jay's memorial and transferring it!
