Woodhams.--Dorcas C. Sabin was born April 13, 1837, and died 26 January 26, 1907. She was the daughter of Henry May and Mary Ann Sabin. She has lived the seventy years that make up her beautiful life in the same community. The place of her death was less than half a mile north of the place of her birth. Her childhood, girlhood and womanhood have been spent with those who have lived in this vicinity. Here she spent her school days and in this vicinity she taught school. From a child she has been closely identified with the life of the same church, taking an active part in the Sunday School, social meetings and the public services. When a girl, she began to sing in the choir and for the many years she held her place in the working ranks. She was married to Raymond A. Woodhams, April 3, 1862. One child was the fruit of this union, namely, Mary, who was born May 29, 1863, and died September 2, 1865, thus was the joy of the parents soon turned to sorrow. Two adopted children, George Woodhams and Mrs. Lizzie Pound, and her husband and a large circle of relatives survive to mourn the loss of this loved one.
