Obituary - Thomas F. Hibbard died at his home, 349 Pulaski Street, of heart failure, which his relatives believe was brought on by overexerting himself in working on the interests of the Sunshine Society, with which he was prominently connected, since early spring until four weeks ago, when he was taken suddenly ill. He went around among his friends getting contributions to give to the poor children of Darien, where a home is established, and the strain proved too much for his weak heart and advanced age. He was a member for more than thirty years of the Greene Avenue Baptist Church, the pastor of which, The Rev. Cornelius Woelfkin, will conduct the funeral services, to be held this evening at 8 o'clock, at his late residence. Deceased was born at Rouse's Point, New York, March 8, 1822. For the past forty years he lived in Brooklyn, and twenty-five years of that time in the 21st Ward. Deceased, who retired from business about six years ago, is survived by his son, Wallace B. Hibbard, who is a deacon in the Greene Avenue Baptist Church, and two daughters, Mrs. Henry Curtiss and Miss Anna K. Hibbard. The interment will take place in Evergreens Cemetery.
