Verlin Jean Beutelschies
Verlin Jean Beutelschies, born in Bokoshe Oklahoma on August 1, 1924 passed away in Richland Washington on July 2, 2021. Verlin lived in Richland for most of his life, a total of 60 years. Verlin was a long time member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland. Prior to moving to Richland, Verlin lived with his patents in McLaughlin Heights before joining the United States Army and attending boot camp in Camp Fanning TX in 1943.
After serving our country during WWII, Verlin accepted a position at Hanford as a Heavy Equipment Oiler, where he worked until his retirement in 1989 and was fondly referred to by his coworkers as a "shifty oiler".
Verlin was a person that loved everyone with unconditional bounds. He touched many lives in his own special way. His family cherishes their memories of Verlin having money socks, going to the 88 cent store where he purchased a pink poodle, and drinking Ovaltine together. Verlin and his family made great memories at Tammy's restaurant and JJ's North Diner.
One of Verlin's most cherished friends was Emma Munillos. Emma and her parents were a very special part of Verlin's life, and he always got a special sparkle in his eye when he looked at the picture of Emma that resided on his desk.
Emma shared a message with the family that reads, "I miss him very much. I hope he knows that I did come back for him, just like I said I would. He is in a better place now with lots of freedom." Emma also shared the following scripture with Verlin's family.
Isaiah 57: the righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.
Verlin is survived by his sister Rosalie Ima Campbell, nephew David E Campbell (Diana), niece Pam Higbee (Mark), niece Rose Minderman (Vern), nephew John Campbell, niece Susan Morgan, niece Julia Campbell, and many grand nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father John Henry Beutelschies, mother Elizabeth Agnes Beutelschies, brother Larry Paul Beutelschies, and sister in law Betty L Beutelschies.
There will be a public viewing for Verlin at Einan's Funeral Home on July 13, 2021 from 10:00am – 12:00pm, which will be immediately followed by a Graveside service with Military Honors at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
