Vesta Darlene Kvasnicka, daughter of Leslie and Bertha Bentley Cossaart, was born October 22, 1919 at the family home near Mahaska and died April 7, 2002 at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville. She was 82.
She attended Mahaska Grade School for one year, Country School Star District #44, and graduated from Mahaska Rural High School in 1937.
She was a homemaker and spent her entire life in Republic County. She was baptized as an infant and became a member of the Mahaska Presbyterian Church in 1929. Her membership was later transferred to the Presbyterian Church in Narka.
On April 6, 1938, she was united in marriage to Evan Kvasnicka and to this union three children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1983; an infant daughter, Rosanna; brother, Leslie Olin Cossaart and sister, Vera Jones.
Survivors include a daughter, Rita Orton, Lincoln, NE; son, Lonnie Kvasnicka, Omaha, NE; four grandchildren; sister-in-law. Lorene Cossaart and brother-in-law, Warren Jones.
Funeral services were held April 11, at the Narka Presbyterian church, Reverend Sue Haseltine officiating. Burial in National Cemetery south of Narka.
