Charles W. Boyer died at Veranda Place in Darlington following an extended illness.

Parents: Charles A. and Mayme Christine Baker Boyer.

Wife: Wanda McCullough Boyer. They were married for 54 years to when she died March 5, 2001.

He was employed at Ellwood City Tube Mill and retired with 33 years of service as an inspector. He was also a lifelong farmer known for his sweet corn and orchards. An active member of Wampum Presbyterian Church, he was an elder, a former trustee and deacon. An Army medic during World War II, he participated in the Normandy Invasion and served in the European Theater. He was a member of the Wampum Area Lions Club and a former school board member for both the former Wampum school and Mohawk Area School District. He loved to travel and make new friends, but he especially loved his family time.

Relatives: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Peggy Boyer, Linda and Robert Kirk, and Mary Ellen and Doug Bessell; a son and daughter-in-law, William G. and Lana Boyer; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Lynn Boyer on Oct. 27, 1990; three brothers, Harry E. Boyer, Raymond Boyer and Glen R. Boyer; and a sister, Emma Boyer.
