On March 29, 1897, Ernest married Ida Reynolds in Pleasants County, West Virginia. They were the parents of James H. Edward Core and little Marea Core, who judging by the death date and location, probably died of the measles that were killing toddlers off at that time.
Edward died and was buried in WV before several of the family migrated to Ohio, where the measles hit in 1904.
