Joni Jean Dietz, age 62, passed away at her home surrounded by her family, Wednesday June 16, 2021.

Joni was born on December 15, 1958, to Russell and Charlene (Estes) Hedrick, in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended Cypress Lake High School.

Joni married Dale Dietz on May 28, 1980, in Independence, Missouri. Joni worked in her younger years as a clerk and then in travel. She spent most of her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved family and was the one who kept track of birthdays, anniversaries, and the family genealogy. She spent hours watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the views of the lake behind the home.

Joni is survived by her husband Dale Dietz; children Dustin (Megan) Dietz, and Desiree Kai (Jason) Summers; grandchildren Malachi (Amelia), Bailey (Josh), Xavier (Katie), Blake, Brooke, and Elora; great grandchildren Lily, Jaxon, Waylon Owen, and Riley; sister Donna (Larry) Keller, brothers Terry (Kathy) Hedrick, Dean Hedrick, and Marty Hedrick; as well as several other family and friends.

She is preceded by her parents Russell and Charlene Hedrick, and sister Diana Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations to be made to the Golden Valley Oncology Department.
