He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to George E Thompson IV and Margaret Hammes on September 1, 1931. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Army from 1949-1953. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Mexico City College December 1959. He worked as a general manager for Revlon and later as a sales manager for Max Factor before becoming an owner-operator of a commercial industrial company in Orange County, CA. He was involved in the Shriner organization and was an active member of the Freemasons. He had an affinity for languages, loved to travel, was passionate about genealogy and enjoyed puzzles.
Ronald is preceded in death by his father, George E Thompson, IV, his mother, Margaret Thompson, brothers George Thompson and John Thompson.
