George T. Thompson, 90, Mondovi, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at Oakview Care Center in Durand.

He was born Aug. 14, 1911, in the Town of Gilmanton, Buffalo County, to Thomas and Netie (Johnson) Thompson.

He was a self-employed carpenter. He built houses and barns with his brother Ammons. He married Gladys Christopherson April 30, 1955. He was a lifetime member of Central Lutheran Church.

Those who knew George knew that his daughters, nieces and nephews were his life. They were his reason for living. He received so much joy in having family around him. George's memory will forever live in our hearts.

Survivors include seven daughters, Georgia (Todd) Carlson of West Bend, Trina (Danny) Marsolek of Mondovi, Beth (Bob) Winsand of Gilmanton, Sherry Thompson of Eau Claire, Tammy Thompson of Mondovi, Nevada Moats of Mondovi and Nancy Thompson of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren, Chad Marsolek, Chastity, (David) Colby, Stephanie Carlson, Benjamin Carlson, Robby Winsand Jena Moats, Kristine Moats, Zan Thompson and Sydni Thompson; great-granddaughter, Alayna Beth Colby; sister, Leona Fitzgerald of Mondovi.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; parents; brother, Ammons Thompson; five sisters, Myrtle Bowers, Junice Becker, Violet Jaeger, Hazel Fenske and Helen McCart.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Central Lutheran Church. Rev. Jack Olson officiated. Burial was in Riverside Lutheran Cemetery.
