Doris Lea Tillman Castello, longtime owner and operator of Doris' Grocery in Slaughter, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at Lane Regional Medical Center, Zachary. She was 86 years old, born Aug. 19, 1921, and was a resident of Ethel and a native of Clinton.

Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary. Visiting at Redwood Baptist Church, Slaughter, until religious service conducted by the Rev. Ron Aguillard. Burial in Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Aubrey L. "Doc" and Winnie Castello; grandsons, Ronnie Joe and wife Connie Castello and Randy Castello and fiancée Cheryl Aucoin; great-granddaughters, Christin Castello and Brandi Castello; great-grandson, Mason Lee Castello; step granddaughter, Amy Venable and husband Dwayne; stepgrandson, Troy Carruth and wife Linda; step great-granddaughter, Kelsi Carruth; stepgreat-grandsons, Zachary and Alex Venable; and two sisters, Eunice T. Davis and Ethel T. Morrow.

Preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey L. Castello Sr.; and five brothers and a sister.

Pallbearers will be Aubrey L. Castello Jr., Ronnie Joe Castello, Randy Castello, Mason Castello, Jack Farrar and Dwayne Venable.

She was a member of Redwood Baptist Church.
