Frankie Orial McGehee, known to many as "Sam" of Reidsville died peacefully at his home at the age of 75 on July 9th, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones.

The family had a memorial service at Citty Funeral Home Chapel of Reidsville on Saturday, July 16, 2016.

He was born and lived in Rockingham County his entire life. He was the son of the late Henry W. McGehee and the late Stella Ward McGehee Flynn. He was a retired cabinet maker and a member of the Salvation Army Church. Frank was a champion of helping the elderly and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and above all spending time with his beloved family. He loved the Washington Redskins, animals, and spending time at the beach. He never met a stranger and was the ultimate jokester.

Survived by his wife: Jean Talley McGehee, daughters: Lisa McGehee of Greensboro and Cathy M. Hartley and husband Mark of Glen Burnie, Maryland, son: Christopher Todd McGehee and wife Elizabeth McGehee of Reidsville, grandchildren: Sarah Hartley, Liana Fisher, Lauren and Addie Oliver, brothers: Henry W. "Dinkie" McGehee, Jr. his wife Linda of Ruffin, Donald "Duck" McGehee of Reidsville, sister: Carolyn M. Rakes of Reidsville. He was preceded in death by his brother: Melvin McGehee.
