Jerry C. Bennett, 68, of Roxton died Friday, July 1, 2005, at Paris Nursing Home. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. Burial follows in Restland Cemetery in Roxton under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. The family receives friends from 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

He was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Roxton, to Clifton Ellis and Maudie Gentry Bennett. He attended Roxton High School and served in the Army Air Force in 1952. He was a retired truck driver and member of First United Methodist Church of Roxton. He married Ethel E. Mason Ellis on March 29, 1980, in Omaha, Neb. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Barbara LeFlore, Hazel Owens and Margaret Mills. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Bennett of Roxton; two daughters, J?Lene Faught and husband, Melvin, of Dallas and Shelia Baldree and husband, Leo, of Seagoville; four stepchildren, Richard Hetler and wife, Robin, of Willard, Ohio, Eddie Ellis of Bridgeport, Neb., Vicky Getz and husband, Terry, of Norwalk, Ohio, and Michelle Ellis of Paris; four grandchildren, Tasha Baldree, Tracy Cornell, Bryan Trimm and Michael Trimm; eight step-grandchildren, Dustin Hetler, Haylee Hetler, Rebbeca Roland, Laurie Getz, Aaron Ellis, Cheryl Freeman, Jennifer Ellis and Stephany Ellis; one brother, Gilbert Bennett; the mother of his two daughters, Earlene Henderson Holland; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Pallbearers are Charlie Hickman, John Liggett, Brent Cooper, Chris Love, Brad Dillard and Allen Hughes.
