Bobby Jack Jones Sr., 79, of Amarillo died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Ave Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was born July 28, 1926, to Mack and Mary Adkins Jones in Palmer. He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the Army Reserves for 17 years. He began his career in law enforcement in 1951 with the Amarillo Police Department, where he became a detective and worked for 15 years. He was in charge of security for Wackenhut Security at Bell helicopter for several years. He started working for the Randall County Sheriff's Department on Feb. 1, 1984, and retired after 11 years of service in 1995 at the age of 67.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Dorothy C. Jones on March 17, 1984.

Survived include a son, Bobby Jack Jones Jr. and wife, Jody, of Amarillo; a daughter, Lois Patterson and husband, Denny, of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Horace Jones of Irving; two sisters, Willie Rawls and Ima Jo Hoggatt, both of Pampa; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
