He graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the class of 1975. Sky was united in marriage with the former Bonnie Jackson at the Reese United Methodist Church on October 4, 1980.
A man of diverse interests, Sky was employed with the Saginaw Intermediate School District for more than thirty years as a printer and was also an official with MHSAA for thirty years. An amazing softball player and bowler, his love of sports continued into his adult life as an avid Michigan State Spartan fan. Sky and Bonnie have bragging rights to say their love of travel took them to all fifty states, and when not traveling, he was a LEGO enthusiast.
Sky never missed an opportunity to spoil his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Sky's memory are his wife of forty years, Bonnie; two children and their spouses, Mickey & Erin Carolan of Byron Center, Tammy & Eric Kolenda of Cedar Springs; four grandchildren, Olivia and Carson Kolenda, Elloree and Brooks Carolan; one sister, Renee Carolan of Texas; two brothers and their spouses, Marc & Deb Carolan of Saginaw, Colt & Janice Carolan of Texas. Sky was preceded in death by a son, Jay Adam Carolan.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro with Pastor Duwayne Loney officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home, Caro, MI. on Tuesday.
