Mary became the bride of Frank Godfrey on 7 June 1894 in Maquoketa, Iowa at the home of her father.
Mary was proceeded in death by beloved husband in 1907. During their marriage the Godfrey's resided in Chicago and New York City.
Mrs. Godfrey was survived by her daughter Donna Marie (Karl Miller), grand daughter, Maxine Marie Miller and son Charles Preston Trout Godfrey. Also surviving were brothers; George William Trout(Grace Wilbur) of Oak Park,Illinois ; Charles Lincoln Trout (Della Mounts) of New York City, Bert Trout, and sister Francis "Fanny" (William John Matthias)of Maquoketa, Iowa.
Mrs. Godfrey was an accomplished pianist and a lifetime member of the Congregational Church in Maquoketa.
Mrs. Godfrey battled asthma and was residing with her daughter Donna in Arizonia in hopes of regaining her health.
