July 5, 1920 – April 21, 2022
It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye. On Wings, she rejoined her husband Robert of 59 years, son Geoffrey and parents Victor and Hilda Regnauld from Brighton, England.
Irene will be missed by her good friends Doreen Davis & family, Elsa Trink & family, the Kelly family, Sharon Bowman, Rose Fioravanti, Nancy Evans, Delores Perryman, and all the friends she met while working at the Saltfleet Library and lunching with VON. Once again, she'll have that cup of tea with her coffee klatch friends and enjoy many more laughs. She will be surrounded by countless furry friends she helped, rescued, and sheltered over the years with longtime friend Margaret Kelly and their work with the Society for Animals in Need (S.A.I.N.).
Irene had many passions including nature walks, swimming, travel, picnics, and all family get-togethers, but most of all she created many treasured works of art with needlepoint. She was an avid reader and loved to chat about the latest Scottish romance novel. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, wisdom, and quick wit!
Special thanks to all the staff at the Hamilton General Hospital who helped care for Irene. A memorial celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a future date. Donations to the SPCA or a charity of your choice is appreciated in lieu of flowers.
