Born October 10, 1922 in Aurora, Ohio she a daughter of the late Eura and Lizzie Miller Hostetler. Vera was also preceded in death by her husband, William W. Gray on May 31, 1976; six sisters and two brothers.
Vera retired from Whirlpool in Clyde, Ohio after 17 years of service. She was an active member of the Dover Alliance Church and the Alliance Women. Vera loved sports, when in high school she was on the girls track team, excelling in the shot put. While working for Whirlpool she was a member of the company bowling team.
A wonderful and caring mother and grandmother, Vera will be missed by her son, Steve (Linda) Gray of Dover; grandsons, Sean (Jackie) Gray of Columbus, Seth Gray of Cambridge, Scot (Jenn) Gray of Florida; and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 23 starting at 11:00 am in the Dover Alliance Church with Pastor Rick Rose and Pastor Bruce Sexton officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. Due to Covid-19 masks and social distancing will be required.
