In 1983, James was united with Carol Wiedemann and they had one son, Jason. They later married on June 18, 2002. James was a lifelong Austin resident and a member of the catholic faith. He was self-employed and a jack of all traits. He belonged to a pool league "Burning Bridges," and his favorite passion was deer hunting and enjoyed fishing. James also loved barbequing and family reunions spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Arens of Austin, MN; sons, Jeremy Arens of Austin, MN, Robert (Anna) Arens of Klenne, IA, Steven (Kari) of Waseca, MN, Jason Wiedemann of Austin, MN; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Thelma Arens.
