Betty Jo Allison, 72, of New Boston formerly of West Portsmouth passed away at her home with loved ones at her bedside. Betty Jo was born June 5, 1948, in Portsmouth to the late David "Ted" Hamilton and Doris (McClurg) Hamilton. Betty Jo loved her family dearly, she enjoyed cookouts, holidays and many other family get-togethers. She loved traveling especially to the Great Smoky Mountains and her cousin trips. She loved dancing, working and designing her flower beds and following Big Foot.

Betty is survived by her life long love Kenneth Showalter of 35 years; three daughters, Tamra Lee Allison of Pigeon Forge TN, Melinda Sue Jarrells and Jason Jones of Chillicothe, Frances Rennae Hall of Grove City; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Helen) Hayslip, Alisha (Chase) Robinson, Charles Wellman Jr. (Catherine Greene), Jessie Lowry (Dylan Goen), Kara Jo Jarrells (Nick Gragg), Taylor Lynn (Ariana Williamson), Ashley Hall, Brandon Hall, Joshua (Sonya) Hall; thirteen great-grandchildren, Orion (RJ), Timothy, Chloe, Clayton, Alayna Jo, Nolan, Haiden, Kaiden, Sernity, Isaac, Greylyn, Drew, Rainen; best life long friend of 50 years, Carol Smith (more like a sister) and her precious loving dog Cookie.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Bud Mefford officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
