Mr. Walker was born at Belle, on Feb. 17, 1922, to the late Robert and Lula Dent Walker. He was retired from Kroger Warehouse with 37 years of service; he was a member and past Deacon at the Victory Baptist Church, Cross Lanes; a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; he was a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Walker; and son, Alen "Al" Walker.
He is survived by his children, Lu Warner and husband Neal of Lynchburg, Va., Karen Meadows and husband Steve of Cross Lanes, and Mark Walker and wife Julie of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Nannie Gardner of Campbells Creek; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Victory Baptist Church, Cross Lanes, with the Rev. Ron Armstrong and the Rev. Neal Warner officiating. Burial with military rites will be held at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
