Eleanor A. Petrella Liberatore, 90, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Wednesday March 24, 2021 at Lancia Villa Royale Nursing Home in Steubenville, OH.
She was born November 3, 1930 in Mount Pleasant, PA, a daughter of the late Othie and Josephine (Rehenek) Husak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Petrella on January 26, 1983; her second husband, John Liberatore, on February 5, 2015; a brother, Ted Husak; and a brother-in-law, Douglas Scott.
Eleanor was a homemaker and she also worked at the former Denmark's at both the mall and downtown Steubenville. She was a founding member of the former Raynes Methodist Church and a member of the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed cooking and baking.
Surviving are two sons, Frank Petrella of Niger, Africa and Larry (Merica) Petrella of Steubenville, OH; two daughters, Beverly Bernard and Barbara (Juan) Reza, both of Orange, CA; a step-daughter, Debbie (Bill) Lawrence of Mingo Junction, OH; a sister, Gladys Scott of Roscoe, IL; six grandchildren, Larry Petrella, Jodi (Mike) Petrella DeStefanis, Beth Bernard, Cliff Bernard, Adam (Sonnett) Landy and Coby (Christine) Landy; and five great-grandchildren, Mia, Anthony, Trevor, Lena and RayJer.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH, where her funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Ater, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction, OH. Masks are required at the funeral home.
