Jim had developed into a serial entrepreneur in Dallas, working in secretarial and mailing services, several different restaurants and a variety of video stores. Jim gave 33 years of service to the US Army Reserve and eventually retired as Command Sergeant Major of the 807th Medical Brigade in Seagoville, Texas. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, playing games with children such as Uno and chess, and going for peaceful walks.
