She was just 3 months away from turning 100 years old.
She was born July 16, 1923 in Crosby, the daughter of William and Alberta Marsh Alcock. On June 20, 1942, in Bradford, she married Arnold N. "Bunny" Austin, who died on Dec. 13, 2003.
Doris attended Colegrove High School and was a housewife, tending to the needs of her family. She loved gardening and traveling with her husband.
She is survived by one daughter, Joan Knobloch of Erie; two sons, Gayle N. (Sandra) Austin and Barry L. (Donna) Austin, both of Smethport; six grandchildren and several great- and great-great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, one son-in-law, one brother and two sisters.
At Doris' request, there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
