James Matthew Beard, 63, of Kansas city MO passed away peacefully at home on Friday March 12, 2021. Jim was born on February 7, 1958 to Carolyn S. (Hawkins) and James M. Beard in Kansas city, MO. He attended North Central High School in Indianapolis and served in the Navy at Naval Hospital Corps in Great Lakes, IL. He attended Ivy Tech Community college where he graduated with a degree in Design Technology. He then attended Ball State University where he graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Design Technology. After graduating he landed his first job at AAR Aircraft Engineering Service Group, kicking off a career as a CAD Mechanical Designer.

On July 14, 2009 he married Sandra McLeary. they both loved to travel and often took trips to Jamaica, Sandy's birthplace. Jim was passionate about cooking and playing guitar. He was an avid reader and had an extensive collection of food, guitar and rock n roll magazines.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, sandy, his mother Carolyn Test, and his sister Patti Beard. He was preceded in death by his father. He will be cremated, according to his wishes at Flanner Buchanan Broad Ripple, Indianapolis, IN. A memorial service will be held at later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
