Wendell was educated in Northampton County Public Schools. He attended the Shiloh Baptist Church where he accepted the Lord at an early age. He rededicated himself to Christ prior to calling him home.
He was united in holy matrimony to Elinor Taylor in 4963 and of this union were born two daughters and a son. Wendell was a devoted and loving husband and father.
He lived most of his life in Pennsylvania. Until his retirement in 1989, he worked in building construction for more than 30 years. For most of these years, he worked as a Construction Foreman for Bachman Construction in Glenside, PA. His friendly, kind-hearted spirit was respected by his co-workers and will be long remembered.
Wendell was active and dedicated to community service until his health began to fail. He lived in the Concord Park-Linconia Community for approximately 28 years. His community and friends will always remember him for his devoted service and a heart of love.
He lived to cherish his memory and to await a glorious reunion one day in the Lord: his wife, Elinor Holley; his children, Brenda and her husband Warren Johnson, Linda Holley and Anthony and his wife, Lavalle Holley, five grandchildren, Yolanda, Jasmine and Bianca Johnson, Quanika Campbell and Kerron Holley (all of Trevose, PA); his sister, Annie H. Diggs of Sunny bank, VA; mother and father-in-law, Bernard and Louise Taylor of Reedville, VA; three sister-in-law, Dorothy S. Holley of Philadelphia, PA, Doris T. Scott and Bernice T. Anderson of Willingboro, NJ; two brothers-in-law, Timothy Scott and Anthony Anderson of Willingboro, NJ; and a host of other relatives (aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins) and friends.
