======
Kade Winkel 1989 ~ 2006 RICHFIELD, UT-Our beloved, honorable son, brother, grandson, uncle, teammate and friend was called home to his Savior following a tragic auto accident near Scipio, Utah on August 12, 2006. Kade was born April 17, 1989 in Richfield to Corey and Teresa Brown Winkel. He was an awesome dedicated young man and a natural leader.

He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout when only 14 years old and earned his spot many times on the honor rolls of each of Richfield's public schools. He excelled in so many activities and sports including lettering in wrestling and football. Though small in stature, his tenacious spirit, great heart and ambition more than made up for his size. Like David of old, Kade learned early in his football career that "the bigger they are, the harder they fall" always diving for the knees and ankles, earning for himself the nickname "Ankle Biter" by his teammates and friends. He loved playing basketball, baseball, golf, weight-lifting, wake-boarding, snow-boarding, hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling at the sand dunes and anything that involved being with his many friends.

He made life an enjoyable experience for everyone around him with his constant teasing and joking and his easy friendly manner. Kade taught us many great lessons by his good example. He was a Priest in the Aaronic Priesthood filling his assignments with dignity and love and served his Savior well. He read his scriptures and was preparing himself spiritually and temporally to serve a mission for his church as his brother Clint is now doing in the Washington-Seattle Mission.

Words cannot express how much we will miss our awesome son and friend, but anxiously we will await the glorious resurrection when we will be reunited with Kade in the eternities. Kade, we love you and are proud of you. We are glad that we are an eternal family.

Kade is survived by his parents of Richfield; brothers and sister, Dusty (Katie) Winkel of Orem; Amy (Tim) Hunt of Richfield; Elder Clint Winkel, Seattle, WA; Kale Winkel of Richfield; two nephews, grandmother, Gloria Brown of Annabella; Great-grandfather, Virge Brown of Annabella. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Rhoda Winkel and Roger B. Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield LDS Tabernacle, 200 West Center. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and again at the Magleby Mortuary on Thursday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Burial in the Richfield City Cemetery.
