William Perry Jones, 74, of Vinton, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 5, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, William P. and Katherine Kirkwood Jones; a brother, Johnie Jones; two sisters, Agnes Jones and Mildred Pennington; and a son, Kenneth Jones. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Helen Conner Jones; a daughter, Pamela Jones Shea and son-in-law, Judson Shea of Pennsylvania; three grandsons, Ben Jones of Roanoke, Mark Jones of Clinton, Tenn., J.D. Shea of Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006 with the Rev. Dr. Robert L. Wayne officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorials to the Building Fund of the Vinton Baptist Church, and will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2006 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
