Mary Emily Griffin was b. July 18, 1861 in Goshen, Elkhart, Indiana. She was the dau. of Newton J. Griffin and Abigail Denny. She m. Frederick Eugene Elder Oct. 5, 1882 in Hampton, Iowa. (Their daughter, Grace Denny Elder was my grandmother.) She d. in Chicago, but was buried at Pine Lake Cemetery in Indiana, next to her brother George Davenport Griffin and his wife Carrie Porter Griffin. Their graves have a stone but Mary Emily Griffin does not. Edit May 9, 2023. I believe her husband Frederick Eugene Elder was buried in Cheviot, Hamilton, Ohio, outside of Cincinnati.
