Rocco J. Cambareri, 84, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. He was born on August 29, 1936 in Manhattan, New York and grew up in Queens. Rocco met Concetta Riccardelli and they were married for 61 years. They began their lives together in Queens and in 1967, moved to Hazlet, New Jersey, where they remained to raise their family. Before his retirement, Rocco worked as an electrician for Verizon in New York City for over 35 years. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959.

Rocco had many interests and hobbies including playing both tennis and golf, learning about history, reading, and doing at least four crossword puzzles from various newspapers daily.

He also had a great love of music, and enjoyed attending his sons-in-law's band gigs. Rocco was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. His cherished grandson, Wes, was a source of great joy and pride.

He was predeceased by his parents, Josephine (Scarpullo) and James Cambareri; survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Concetta, his loving daughters, Maria Cusumano and her husband, Joseph, Joanna Johnston and her husband, Austin, and Roxanne Rivingston and her husband, Thorp, his grandson, Wes Rivingston, his dear brother, James Cambareri, and his wife Maryann, a nephew, nieces, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Rocco will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of Rocco’s wishes, he will be privately cremated. His cremated remains will be laid to rest in the near future at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey.
