Jacob lived all of his short 17 years in Boise and Meridian, Idaho. He loved getting away and was always willing to camp out. He spent several weekends each summer camping at Ponderosa Park near McCall and near Idaho City, Idaho, with his family.

He studied the principles of aviation and piloting. He designed airplanes with paper plates and cardboard and demonstrated aspects he had studied, including lift, dihedral, balance, etc. Ultimately, he graduated into building large remote-control planes with 5’ wing spans. His favorite part was “buttering” the landings.

Jacob participated in the Boy Scouts of America, earning his eagle. His project included painting over 700 fire hydrants for the Department of Water Resources.

It was difficult for Jacob to make friends and companions. He gravitated to those who warmly welcomed him and showed him great kindness. Gratefully, he found so many. He participated in soccer and band. He played the trombone and taught himself several guitar chords. Recently, he wrote a song for his mother. Jacob was creative. He loved to share his stories, drawings, music, and models with his family.

He is, and will be, sorely missed by his mom, dad, and immediate family. He was the “baby” of the family. He is survived by Jared Affleck (father), Lindi Wells Affleck (mother), Audrey Affleck (sister), Logan Affleck (brother), and Carter Affleck (brother).

Arrangements by Relyea Funeral Chapel.
Jacob was interred at the Kuna City Cemetery within a few yards of the grave of his grandfather, Dennis Wells.
