Robert Barit, 72, of Indian Wells, Calif., died Saturday in a Colorado Springs hospital. The part time resident of Colorado Springs was a vice president of Hudson Motor Company before his retirement. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St. Cremation is planned. Mr. Barit was born August 2, 1917, in Grosse Pointe, Mich., to A.E. and Eva Barit. He was a Colorado Springs resident for 10 years and was a graduate of Cranbrook Prep School and Amhurst College. He served in the Navy and was an associate member of the First Presbyterian Church, a trustre and elder of the Community Presbyterian Church in Palm Desert, Calif., and a member of the U.S. Tennis Umpire Association. He was married April 22, 1984, in Indio, Calif., to Lee Brinkerhoff, who survives. He is also servived by four sons, Robert Jr. of Pennsylvania, Bruce of New York, Hugh of Zurich, Switzerland and Malcom of Texas; three daughters, Bonnie of Massachusetts, Pamela of New York and Kirby of Bermuda, and several grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Tennis Development Program, in care of Franklin Pierce, Garden of the Gods Club, Colorado Springs 80904.
