Buford F. Flannagan, 47, passed away at his residence at Elk River Mill on Friday, October 10 at 11:30 a.m. after an illness of two months. Funeral services were held for Mr. Flannagan, a successful farmer of that community, by Rev. Jack Jones on October 11 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. McConnell-Service directing. He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mamie Flannagan; three sons, Edward, Clarence and Calvin; three brothers, Neil, Marvin and Posey; six sisters, Mrs. Inez Eakes, Mrs. Sammie Rouse, Mrs. Ruby Adams, Mrs. Leona Schrimsher, Mrs. Leoma Sails and Mrs. Nella Tillman.
