He was ALWAYS ready to go for a walk, ride, and to eat and I MEAN, he LOVED to eat.
We also called him "The Burping Dog" because he regularly burped rather loudly. Wish we could have gotten that on video, but we never could. Still makes us laugh. :)
He loved Bob so much. We always said he knew Bob saved him. He could not stand for Bob to leave him. When Bob went somewhere, Big's mission was to locate his "his person" and he was not happy until Bob returned. During his younger years we would hike with Big and Little, our other dog, up to 11 miles in a day. Big did not miss a beat and especially loved when we crossed a creek... he'd lower his entire body into those creeks to cool his belly and come out shaking...:)
He loved to go camping with us, too. He was so good "meeting" other dogs and every time we pulled the camper out... he would be waiting at the door ... he was ready to go!
My friend, Karen, would drive her dogs by our house every evening about the same time and he would wait and listen for his "buddies".... it was the highlight of his day. Our property was fenced, so he could run the entire length of the fence barking at Louise, Buster, and Heidi cruising by... he loved his buddies and Karen, too!
He starting loosing mobility in his legs about a year and a half ago and he could only go a very short distance, but he tried so hard.
He loved us unconditionally, and even though it was hard to keep our house without fur, I sure do miss that fur. His love and those big beautiful eyes made up for the inconvenience. He filled our lives with joy and he is missed. See you in heaven, Big!
