Danny was born in Barberton where he was a life resident and retired from the Barberton Police Department after 33 years of service. He loved his job and considered himself a "Peace Officer." He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a Navy Veteran who proudly served on the USS Shangri La in Vietnam. Danny loved camping and was a huge football fan but most importantly, spending time with his family was his passion.
Preceded in death by his parents, Newman and Mary; He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Allyson R. (Wooley); sons, Bill (Lisa) and Danny Jr.; daughter, Ashley (Todd) Hone; grandchildren: Billy, Danny, Sophia, Lillian, Addison and Gracelyn; brothers: Newman Jr. (Linda), Robin (Paula) and Tim (Connie); sisters: Susan Adair, Mary Kay (Doug) Haynes and Carrie (Bob) Okolish; and numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 Sixth St. NW., Barberton. Private Interment on Monday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Calling Hours Friday, January 29, 2021 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton.
