Wallace Milton Caldwell was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 13, 1857 to James Caldwell and Lydice Wodsworth Caldwell. Wallace was married to Olive I. Barnebee in 1879 in Michigan and the couple spent nearly all their life in that state. They raised two sons: Lynn B. Caldwell (Aug 31, 1881 – Sep 4, 1958) and Loyd Glover Caldwell (Mar 5, 1882 – Feb 1, 1973). Wallace and Olive moved to Riverside, CA in July, 1930.
