Professional Hockey Player. A native of Sillery, Quebec, Hicks played for teams in the NHL, OCJHL, OCHL, OIHA, MRTHL, Can-Pro, and the IHL hockey leagues. At 5'07, and 170lbs, Hicks played the position of Defense for the Ottawa Glebe Collegiate from 1916 to 1918, Ottawa Mallettes from 1917 to 1918, Ottawa Grand Trunk from 1918 to 1920, Ottawa City Hall from 1920 to 1921, Ottawa St. Brigid's from 1921 to 1922, Ottawa ACC from 1922 to 1924, Ottawa Rideaus from 1924 to 1926, Montreal CNR from 1925 to 1926, Stratford Nationals from 1926 to 1928, Montreal Maroons from 1928 to 1929, Detroit Cougars from 1929 to 1930, Detroit Olympics from 1929 to 1930, Detroit Falcons from 1930 to 1931, and the London Tecumsehs from 1930 to 1934. Hicks retired from playing hockey half way through the 1933 to 1934 season. Hicks died in Ottawa, Ontario, on August 14, 1965, at the age of 64.
