Born 7 March 1914, at Max Meadows, VA., he was the son of the late George W. and Viole Lawson Bond.
Mr. Bond was a 10 year resident of Itmann, was a member of the First Church of God, Mullens, and last worked as a school bus driver for the Wyoming County Board of Education.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Pauline Bond on 19 Dec 1983.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Wayne Bond of Mont Clair, N.J.; four sisters, Bertie Viars; Helen Alexander and Mamie Smith, all of Pulaski, VA.; and Annie Braton of Max Meadows; three brothers, lawrence Bond of Hillsville, VA.; LaHugh Bond of Max Meadows; and Gilmer Joe Bond of Mullens.
Services will be at 10:a.m. Monday at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with the Rev. lloyd nash officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
