Rev. Robert G. "Bob" Leach

The time has come for me to leave this life. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.

Rev. Robert G. "Bob" Leach, age 76, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on May 4, 1944 in Trimble County, Kentucky on Spring Creek. He was the loving son of the late Elmo and Lela F. Morgan Leach. He was raised in Trimble County and went to school there. He attended Madison High School and later received his GED from Trimble County High School. On May 11, 1962 Bob was united in marriage to Janis Rae King at the Milton Baptist Church in Milton, Kentucky. This happy union of 53 years was blessed with a daughter, Leanne, and sons, Greg, Steve and Jeremy. Bob worked early in life at Williamson Heater Company in Madison for several years. He was ordained in 1970 as a Pastor with the Pilgrim Holiness faith. This led to a life of faith to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of over 45 years of service to his church and community. Bob had worked at Rexnord-Chain Belt (Envirex/US Filter) for 35 years, retiring in 1999. He had served as sexton and grounds keeper of the Springdale Cemetery since 1999 and was the co-owner and co-operator of Ohio Valley Excavating with his late wife, Janis and his son, Steve since March 2005. Bob had resided in Madison since 1962, had served as Conference Treasurer for the Pilgrim Holiness Conference for 12 years. He supported the Pilgrim Family Camp and Pilgrim Youth Camp for over 30 years. Bob had volunteered with King's Daughters' Hospital since 1999 and served as a Chaplain as well. Bob enjoyed fishing, especially taking fishing trips with his sons and brother. Bob lived his life to help others, friendship was important to him, he was a man of integrity and trust. Janis was diagnosed with cancer in July 2015 and Bob lovingly cared for her until her death on October 4, 2015. Bob had fought a two and a half year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis and was lovingly cared for by his friend Dee Strouse and his family. Bob died on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 2:10 a.m. at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. Bob left his life in the same way he ended his prayer, "and for what you do, we thank you for it. Amen"
