Willie Lorima Morton, 68, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

She was born February 21, 1952 in Three Rivers, TX to Calvin and Jennie Sparks.

She grew up and attended school in Three Rivers until the age of 13.

She married Jimmy Holmes and lived in Pleasanton for a short time. Jimmy preceded her in death.

She later married Jessie Lee “J.L.” Downing in Winters. J.L. preceded Willie in death.

She married Sherman Morton September 15, 1989 in Winters at the Second Baptist Church with Sherman’s father, Rev. Curtis Morton, officiating the service. They were happily married for over 31 years and resided in Coleman County on Sherman’s family farm.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church until it’s closing and Hopewell Baptist Church currently.

She was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Edgar Perkins, Mary Vandver, Clifford Perkins, Myrtle Perkins, Jesse Perkins and Arnold Perkins.

Willie is survived by her husband Sherman Morton of Coleman; 2 daughters: Laura Bunton and husband Brian of Winters and Jennie Mayo and husband Cody of Winters; brother Calvin Perkins and wife Jessica of Winters; 2 sisters: Carolyn Gardner of Yoakum and Pauline Wright and husband Walter of McCamey; 3 grandchildren: Brian Bunton, Brandon Nance, and Kaylee Nance; and one great-grandson, Brian Michael Roach, on the way.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2020 at Glen Cove Cemetery.
