James Thomas "Putt" Forsythe, 82, formerly of 135 East St., North Lewisburg, died Sunday, Aug. 9 at Fountain Park Nursing Home, Woodstock. He was retired from International Harvester Navistar and retired from Columbus Weslinghouse. He was a member of Local No. 746, Columbus and Local No. 402, Springfield. He was born July 15, 1905 in Woodstock to Robert and Eva Forsythe. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Lawless. Also surviving is a son William R. "Putt" Forsythe, North Lewisburg, daughters, Dorothy Cox, Westerville, Lillian Leopard, Urbana, 17 grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren, two brothers, Sam and Earl, Woodstock and a sister, Dora Hayes, Milford Center. . Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Freshwater - McDonald Funeral Home, North Lewisburg with the Rev. David Ramming officiating and interment in Woodstock Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
