Georgia Lee (Orndorff) Carder, age 76, died peacefully on December 16, 2020 in Peoria after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer.
She was born to Raymond and Sarah (Hotchkiss) Orndorff of Ellerslie, MD on September 14, 1944 in Frostburg, MD. She graduated from Mount Savage Maryland High School in 1963.
Georgia was a retiree with the AFL-CIO after greater than 25 years of service in the Grocery Store Business. She loved the service industry and this was her niche. Many of her lifelong friends worked with her at Eagle and Kroger in Peoria, IL.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother, Ronald Orndorff of Ellerslie, MD. Georgia is survived by her children, JoAnn (Mark) Volk of Peoria, IL, Joseph (Suzanne) Carder of Walworth, NY, and John Carder of Reisterstown, MD; her brothers Eugene (Wilma) Orndorff of Damascus, MD, Raymond Orndorff, Jr. of Bayboro, NC, and Donald “Duffy” Orndorff of Ellerslie, MD; and her sister, Helen (Jim) Schoffstall of Salisbury, MD.
Georgia had 9 grandchildren as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Northwoods Community Church, 10700 Allen Road, Peoria, IL 61615. A private family burial will follow at Swan Lake Cemetery in Peoria, IL.
