Son of the late George E. and Dora (Keebler) Banks.
Mr. Banks was a self employed carpenter. He had also been employed by Corningware Company, Corning, NY and had served as a Deputy Sheriff in Queens, NY.
Mr. Banks was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie No. 812, Clearfield.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Shirey) Banks, whom he married May 31, 1996 in Clearfield,
Also surviving are his children,
Gerald Banks and wife Phyllis Cleveland, OH
Jay Banks and wife Crystal Odessa, NY
Stephen Banks and wife Anita Alpine Junction, NY
Michael Banks and wife Margaret CO
Dora "Suzie" Bulkly and husband William Odessa, NY
Paul Sawyer and wife Jacqueline
Steven Sawyer and companion Shannon Forcey
Tammy Sawyer and companion Eric Overend
Kelly Bennet and husband John
Teresa Roberts and husband William A. all of Clearfield
22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren,
a brother,
Richard Banks Odessa, NY
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Banks and Eugene Banks,(his twin brother) a grandson John Lee Bennet, Jr..
